Dear Music Lovers,

Welcome to the 12th season of Windham Chamber Music Festival concerts in the acoustically superb and historically preserved Windham Civic and Performing Arts Center.

Because of the generosity of arts supporters like you, for the past 8 years many of our recorded concerts have been featured nationwide on American Public Media's (formerly National Public Radio) "Performance Today" program. The live recordings chosen by NPR come from many of the world's finest musical organizations, and it is an honor to be in such company. We are grateful also for our ongoing close partnership with the Catskill Mountain Foundation and the very generous in-kind donations provided to WCMF by the Foundation and by Ruder Finn.

Our 2008 season opens on June 28th with the Northern Catskill debut of the dynamic young violinist Jennifer Frautschi, accompanied by pianist John Blacklow. Beethoven's Kreutzer Sonata, Bartok's Romanian Dances and works of Schubert and Stravinsky are featured.

Next, on July 12th, we are pleased to present a solo recital by the brilliant American pianist, Simone Dinnerstein. Those of you who heard her mesmerizing performance last season of the Mozart Piano Concerto no. 23 will not want to miss this performance of Bach's Goldberg Variations — her 2007 recording of this work was a best seller, and won many accolades.

On July 19th, our ever-popular Annual Gala Orchestra Concert will feature the Windham Festival Chamber Orchestra along with the debut of guitar virtuoso Jorge Caballero. The evening's music includes Concertos for Guitar and Strings by Vivaldi and Tchaikovsky's great Souvenir de Florence as arranged for string orchestra.

In August we will present two very special concerts. The Yamaha Corporation is providing another superb 9-foot Concert Grand for two duo piano jazz concerts.

On August 16th come and hear Bill Mays and Fred Hersch together, and on August 30th the duo of Bill Charlap and Renee Rosnes ("now Mrs. Bill Charlap") will round out our season finale.

Your support has made it possible to build an ongoing chamber music festival that attracts world-class performers to the Mountain Top as well as continuing to give the Northern Catskill area national exposure over American Public Media's "Performance Today".

We hope you will join us for what will certainly be a wonderful 2008 season.

Viva la Musica!
