The Windham Festival String Orchestra is comprised of some of the finest musicians from the New York area and the Hudson Valley.

Robert Manno is Co-Director of the Windham Chamber Music Festival, an award-winning composer and a conductor whose performances have been featured on NPR's "Performance Today". He was formerly a member of the chorus of the Metropolitan Opera for many years.

John Churchwell is currently an assistant conductor on the MET music staff and also of the music staff of both the San Francisco Opera and Minnesota Opera. A member of the faculty of the Music Academy of the West, and a frequent guest artist of the Windham Chamber Music Festival, he has spent summers as a Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center and the Banff Centre for the Arts in the Academy of Singing, and has accompanied many of the world's finest singers.

Ashley Bathgate's appearances include Tchaikovsky's Rococo Variations with the Lake Placid Sinfonietta in 2001, guest appearances with the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra, performances of the d'Albert Concerto with the American Symphony Chamber Orchestra conducted by Leon Botstein in 2002-03, European recitals in Paris and Moulin d'Ande, France with pianist Todd Crow, and many recitals throughout the upstate NY region.

David Heiss, a frequent guest artist of the Windham Chamber Music Festival, is principal cellist of the New York Pops Orchestra, a member of the MET Orchestra, and is very active in chamber music performances and in the New York recording studios.

Katherine Fink enjoys a multifaceted career encompassing orchestral, chamber music and solo performances. She is principal flute with the Brooklyn Philharmonic, the New York Pops and the EOS Orchestra, and has been a featured soloist with these ensembles as well as with the Colonial Symphony, Philharmonia Virtuosi, the New York Chamber Symphony, the Bronx Arts Ensemble and the New York Virtuosi. She also performs regularly with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.

Robert Bush made his solo debut at age 17 with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington, D.C. He has performed as soloist with the New York String Orchestra, Rochester and Tulsa Philharmonics, New Mexico Symphony, New York Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, and Philharmonia Virtuosi. He has served as guest principal flutist with the Pittsburgh Symphony and is a much-sought freelance musician in the New York area.
