The Windham Trio made its debut to great acclaim at the Catskill Mountain
Foundation Red Barn Performing Arts Center in November of 2002.
John Churchwell is currently an assistant conductor on the MET music staff and also on the music staff of both the San Francisco Opera and Minnesota Opera. A member of the faculty of the Music Academy of the West, and a frequent guest artist of the Windham Chamber Music Festival, he has spent summers as a Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center and the Banff Centre for the Arts in the Academy of Singing, and has accompanied many of the world's
finest singers.
Magdalena Golczewski holds degrees from the Royal Academy of Music where she won the Henry Wood Award, the Brussels Conservatory where she won first prize in violin and chamber music and received a Virtuoso Diploma, and the Juilliard School of Music. A former member of the American Symphony Orchestra, she was a member of the Metropolitan Orchestra from 1972 to 2000. Co-Director of the Windham Chamber Music Festival, she has made many appearances in the upstate New York area as a soloist and chamber musician over the past six years.
David Heiss, a frequent guest artist of the Windham Chamber Music Festival, is principal cellist of the New York Pops Orchestra, a member of the MET Orchestra, and is very active in chamber music performances and in the New York recording studios.
