The Roerich Quartet (Renee Jolles & Joanna Jenner, violins, Sarah Adams, viola and Dorothy Lawson, cello) was first heard in the New York premieres of string quartets by Francis Thorne and Peter Susser. Named for the Nicholas Roerich Museum in New York City, where they first performed in 1998, the group is dedicated to presenting dynamic interpretations of the music of our time as well as the classic repertoire. The members of the quartet draw on their experience with some of New York's most prestigious performing ensembles as well as playing at music festivals throughout North America and Europe.

Alan R. Kay, clarinetist, is a graduate of the Juilliard School and has traveled worldwide as a winner of the 1988 Young Concert Artists International Auditions with the group Hexagon; he also travels extensively with the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and Windscape, an innovative new wind quintet. Currently Artistic Director of the New York Chamber Ensemble and Principal Clarinetist with New York's Riverside Symphony and Parnassus Ensemble, he has been heard nationwide and in Canada on Public Radio's "St. Paul Sunday", "Performance Today", and the CBC Network. A regular guest with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, he also appears with Da Camera of Houston, and the Santa Fe and Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festivals.
