Dear Music Lovers,

Welcome to the 15th Anniversary Season of the Windham Chamber Music Festival at the acoustically superb and historically preserved Windham Civic and Performing Arts Center. It's hard to believe that we began this endeavor in 1997, not knowing whether or not it would be artistically successful. But the support we have received from so many for all these years is truly inspiring.

We are grateful to all our individual and business donors for their generous support, and are especially grateful for the ongoing foundation support from the Willow Springs Foundation, the Windham Chapter of the Catskill Mountain Foundation, the Peter R. & Cynthia K. Kellogg Foundation, the Greene County Council on the Arts and the David G. Whitcomb Foundation.

Because of the generosity of arts supporters like you, many of our recorded concerts continue to be featured nationwide on American Public Media's (formerly National Public Radio) "Performance Today" program. These live recordings come from many of the world's finest musical organizations, and it is an honor to be in such company.

Our 2012 season opens on July 21st with the Annual Gala Orchestra Concert. This year the Windham Festival Chamber Orchestra will perform Franz Joseph Haydn's wonderful Symphony #88, Richard Wagner's glorious Siegfried Idyll, and Robert Schumann's neglected masterpiece, the Violin Concerto in D Minor, with the esteemed Elmar Oliveira as soloist. This concert always sells out early so be sure to purchase or reserve your tickets well in advance.

Just one week following that concert, on July 28th, we are proud to present the first performance in Greene County of the brilliant cellist Zuill Bailey with Robert Koenig at the Yamaha Concert Grand. The program features music by Franck, Debussy, Liszt and De Falla. This will be a very special concert indeed.

Another concert not to be missed will happen on August 25th when the beautiful soprano Nancy Allen Lundy returns to Windham, this time with the exciting young baritone Philip Cutlip in a duo recital entitled "From the Opera to Broadway." These two wonderful artists will be joined by Stephen Gosling at the Yamaha in a program of popular arias, songs and duets from Mozart to Bernstein.

Our 15th Anniversary Windham Season concludes on September 8th with the first Windham Chamber Music Festival appearance of the acclaimed Lyric Piano Quartet. The Lyric is headed by the esteemed concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Glenn Dicterow. He will be joined by violist Karen Dreyfus, cellist Frederick Zlotkin and pianist Gerald Robbins in a program featuring the Faure Piano Quartet in C Minor and the Brahms Piano Quartet in G Minor.

And on November 24th, please join the Windham Festival Chamber Orchestra and the wonderful soprano Nancy Allen Lundy at the Doctorow Center for the Performing Arts in Hunter, NY in music of Mozart, Scarlatti, Handel and Gerald Finzi. This concert is made possible by the Jarvis and Constance Doctorow Family Foundation.

Your support has made it possible to build an ongoing chamber music festival that attracts world-class performers to the Mountain Top as well as continuing to give the Northern Catskill area national exposure over American Public Media's "Performance Today".

Sincerely,

Robert Manno   Magdalena Golczewski
