Dear Music Lovers,

Welcome to the 15th season of Windham Chamber Music Festival concerts in the acoustically superb and historically preserved Windham Civic and Performing Arts Center.

Because of the generosity of arts supporters like you, many of our recorded concerts have been featured nationwide on American Public Media's (formerly National Public Radio) "Performance Today" program. These live recordings come from many of the world's finest musical organizations, and it is an honor to be in such company. We are sure that you will enjoy our very intriguing and varied programs this year.

We are grateful to all our donors for their generous support, especially the Windham Chapter of the Catskill Mountain Foundation, the Peter R. & Cynthia K. Kellogg Foundation, the Willow Springs Charitable Trust, the David G. Whitcomb Foundation, the Greene County Council on the Arts and also for our ongoing partnership with the Catskill Mountain Foundation.

Our 2011 season opens on May 28th with the first appearance in the Northern Catskills of the wonderful jazz pianist Eldar Djangirov and his trio. Eldar will be joined by bassist Jose Armando Gola and drummer Ludwig Afonso in a great evening of superb chamber jazz.

On July 16th our ever-popular Annual Gala Orchestra Concert will feature the Windham Festival Chamber Orchestra along with the wonderful clarinetist Alan Kay as soloist in Aaron Copland's Concerto for clarinet, harp, piano and strings. The program will also feature the first concert performance of American composer Romeo Cascarino's The Acadian Land along with Haydn's Symphony #24, the Andantino from Claude Debussy's String Quartet in G and Johann Strauss's beloved Blue Danube Waltzes.

August 13th brings the first appearance on the Mountain Top of the internationally acclaimed American pianist Peter Serkin in recital with special guest violinist Shirien Taylor-Donahue. This will be a very special concert, not to be missed.

Our 2011 Windham Season concludes on September 3rd with the first appearance in Windham of the acclaimed Lyric Piano Quartet. The Lyric is headed by the esteemed concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Glenn Dicterow. He will be joined by violist Karen Dreyfus, cellist Frederick Zlotkin and pianist Gerald Robbins in a program featuring the Faure Piano Quartet in C Minor and the Brahms Piano Quartet in G Minor.

Your support has made it possible to build an ongoing chamber music festival that attracts world-class performers to the Mountain Top as well as continuing to give the Northern Catskill area national exposure over American Public Media's "Performance Today".

Please join us in what we are sure will be a wonderful 2011 season.

Sincerely,

Robert Manno   Magdalena Golczewski
