Dear Music Lovers,

Welcome to the 13th season of Windham Chamber Music Festival concerts in the acoustically superb and historically preserved Windham Civic and Performing Arts Center.

Because of the generosity of arts supporters like you, many of our recorded concerts have been featured nationwide on American Public Media's (formerly National Public Radio) "Performance Today" program. The live recordings chosen by NPR come from many of the world's finest musical organizations, and it is an honor to be in such company.

We are grateful to all our donors for their generous support, especially the Windham Chapter of the Catskill Mountain Foundation, the David G. Whitcomb Foundation, the Greene County Council on the Arts and also for our ongoing partnership with the Catskill Mountain Foundation.

Our 2009 season opens on January 17th with the return to the Northern Catskills of the wonderful jazz pianist Lynne Arriale in her third appearance in Windham. This season Lynne will be showcasing her new trio with bassist Johannes Weidenmuller and drummer Anthony Pinciotti.

On May 23rd we are pleased to present a debut recital by the brilliant Canadian-American violinst, Lara St. John. Lara will be accompanied at the piano by pianist Martin Kennedy in a program that is sure to delight.

On July 11th our ever-popular Annual Gala Orchestra Concert will feature the Windham Festival Chamber Orchestra along with soloists Elmar Oliveira, violin and Sandra Robbins, viola in Mozart's stunning Sinfonia Concertante. The evening will conclude with the beloved Tchaikovsky Serenade for Strings, which was last heard on these concerts in 2002.

August 15th brings the Festival debut of the esteemed Borromeo String Quartet, and our season concludes on September 5th with another debut, that of the acclaimed jazz pianist Mulgrew Miller and his trio.

Your support has made it possible to build an ongoing chamber music festival that attracts world-class performers to the Mountain Top, as well as continuing to give the Northern Catskill area national exposure over American Public Media's "Performance Today".

Please join us in what we are sure will be a wonderful 2009 season.

Long Live Music!
